Twenty-one participants attended a half day workshop held at the annual m-Learn conference in Delft, focused on designing innovative mobile learning pedagogies. The workshop was run by Kevin Burden and Matthew Kearney and was also attended by Ton Koenrad and Jeroen Bottema, projects members from the DEIMP team. Participants included academics from across the world including China, Asia, Africa and the USA. The workshop was also attended by the editor of the International Mobile and Blended Learning Journal, David Parsons, who briefly explained the process of submission for the special edition on Innovation in Mobile Learning which the project team are editing. Although the project took place in December 2017, the outcomes with regard to mobile learning, are still relevant today and are particularly important for fieldwork. This is a great conference to attend and is very relevant for anybody interested in mobile learning in non formal settings. Strongly recommended. #deimp #2019EFL
Today colleagues from the DEIMP team (Professor Kevion Burden; Professor Sandy Schuck and Professor Peter Aubusson) are attending the International Conference on Education and Learning (ICEL) in Osaka, Japan to present the latest findings and research from the DEIMP paper. Our paper is entitled: Developing and Evaluating Innovative Mobile Pedagogies: The DEIMP Project. In July, 2019 Professor Burden was invited to give a keynote presentation on the DEIMP project at the 8th International Workshop on Learning Technology for Education Challenges (LTEC) conference, held at the University of Salamanca in Zamora, Spain. The presentation was attended by over 150 researchers and academics from universities around the world including Taiwan, China, Chile, Australia, Argentina, and Europe itself. In the presentation Professor Burden explored how the use of futures research methodologies, the subject of a recent book written by himself and colleagues in the University of Technology Sydney and the University of Cambridge (REF), can be used to postulate alternative learning scenarios for innovative mobile learning.
